| | Vixy & Tony, "Burn it Down" | ] | Just finished recording my/our first CD. Together with the wonderful Sooj benefit concert it made for a weekend that was way intense, but in a good way. Turns out recording is so not like performing, though one hopes some of the skills will transfer. You can't just grit your teeth and try harder, that doesn't work. You have to play games with your own mental state. Extreme gratitude to: 1) My most excellent partner, Hsifyppah, for the awesome tunes and for setting ever higher hurdles in my path. It's really good for me, and I'm too cautious to do it myself. 2)Our magnificent monkey-brained engineer/producer, who's recording fu is superior. 3)Vixyish, for making it all look easy. |

| | embarrassed | ] | Hi folks, At OVFF I renewed my acquaintance with Renee Alper, the excellent Cincinnati-based songwriter and singer. She very kindly gave me her tape, "Thoracic Park", and her email address, sand I promised to get in touch. Unfortunately I promptly lost the address. In my own defense I mention that I got it at about 3 A.M. Sunday, so I had approximately 48 hours of non-compos mentis time to lose it. Could someone send me contact info for Renee? Please feel free to check with her that she really wants me to contact her. |
